...is a popular East Harlem destination for high-quality new and gently-used clothing, shoes and housewares.  We're known for offering unique finds and amazing steals, including top-brand and designer items.  That's why New Yorkers voted The Sharing Place "Best Thrift Store in NYC" in a Daily News Contest!  If East Harlem is new to you, follow your visit to The Sharing Place with a stop at some of our favorite local eateries: Evelyn's Kitchen, Patsy's Pizzeria and Hot Bread Kitchen in La Marqueta.

Established in 1997, The Sharing Place Thrift Store is an extension of LSA Family Health Service, a nonprofit that provides food pantry, health, education, and family support services to families in crisis in East Harlem and surrounding communities. Through The Sharing Place, LSA is able to offer free emergency goods to individuals and families in crisis (for people living in East Harlem area codes 10029/10035, with a referral from a social worker).  In addition, all proceeds from sales at the store support family programs at LSA.  Since its founding in 1958 by the Little Sisters of the Assumption, LSA has been an anchor institution in the neighborhood of East Harlem. Besides being a favorite shopping destination for high-quality low-cost goods in the community, the store also provides free emergency goods to people in urgent need in area codes 10029 and 10035.

Visit the LSA website HERE to learn more about what we offer the community and how you can help.
